Team Building Exercises – Communication

I found this site very interesting as it has six exercises to develop communication skills.

These exercises will help to improve essential communication such as listening ,empathy . some of them will also help employees to improve their problem -solving, creative thinking, and leadership abilities.

EXCERCISE 1- Card Pieces

EXCERCISE 2- Make a team with....

EXCERCISE 3 - The Elephant List

EXCERCISE 4 - Just Listen

EXCERCISE 5- The Blindfold Game

EXCERCISE 6- Build a Bridge

I will just summarize the one exercises from them -

EXERCISE - JUST LISTEN

This is an activity that encourages participants to express their feelings about a topic. People form groups, and one member expresses his or her thoughts. His partner listens without speaking and then summarizes what has been said without rebuttal.

TIME - Approx. 30 min

Instructions -

1.Place your team members in pairs.

2. Provide each pair with eight index cards.

3. One partner will choose a card at random and then speak for three minutes about her feelings about the topic.

4. The other person is unable to speak because she is speaking; his goal is to listen.

6. The listener has one minute after three minutes to summaries what his partner has said.

6.  He is unable to debate, agree, or disagree; he can only summaries.

7.  The roles are then reversed, and the process begins again.

REQUIRED -

1. A private room

2. Ideally, an even number of team members.

3. Each team of two gets eight index cards. Each card should only contain one topic. Topics should be interesting but not too contentious. You don't want listeners to dislike the speakers simply because they disagree with them.

RELATES TO ME - Last year i have attended a team-building working and we participating in an activity, I remember the name of that activity it was called human knot. This experience taught me the value of both verbal and nonverbal communication in team environments. It emphasized the importance of being adaptable, observant, and responsive to the communication styles of others in order to efficiently achieve common goals.
