To understanding communication styles is important for successful interpersonal relationships, conflict resolution, teamwork, leadership, and personal development. It equips people with the skills they need to navigate social and professional interactions with empathy, respect, and clarity.
Assertive communicators - are frequently regarded as the easiest to assist . They are self-assured while remaining respectful of others' viewpoints, and they do not resort to insults.
Furthermore, assertive communicators are usually calm, encouraging feedback from agents, and are often willing to compromise. They understand their role as well as the role of their support agents, and they are more likely to collaborate with agents to find a solution.
Passive communication -This style is not at ease saying what they mean. Their verbal and nonverbal communication may be contradictory .A passive communicator does not frequently speak up. Instead, they are content to go with the flow and help others. Passive communicators are typically nonconfrontational, and they may even appear submissive. Nonverbal communication may include crossing their arms and avoiding eye contact
Aggressive communication - Aggressive communicators forcefully express their thoughts, feelings, and needs, frequently disregarding the feelings and rights of others. They have the ability to be domineering, insulting, and disrespectful.
Passive -Aggressive communication -A person with this communication style does not feel comfortable saying what they mean. Their verbal and nonverbal communication may be contradictory.
Assertive communicator is the best style which can be improved by
- active listening,
-look for opportunities to practice public speaking,
-With "I" statements, you can confidently express your needs and ideas.
RELATES TO ME -
Me and my boyfriend communicate our needs and boundaries in a clear and respectful manner. We in our fights we speak without being aggressive and disrespectful .We most time defend our values while taking each other point of view into consideration.
